I would like to show you a well-loved crochet lap rug using different size granny squares. This rug was made by my grandmother back in the 1970 before arthritis made it too hard for her to crochet. If you look very closely you will see that the dark green yarn is disintegrating causing it to unravel. The reason for this disintegration is that the green yarn is pure wool and the other yarns are acrylic. I’m going to try and mend it. I will keep you posted
Crochet is my passion.
I thought that we could spend some time exploring different fibres and yarns. Mixing colour and design to represent the mountains and the sea, the river valleys ,our cities scape’s and much more.
Using crochet stitches to give definition to the garments we are designing. We can get excited about shawls and shrugs, warm cosy hats, fabulous scarves and collars, bedspreads and throws, using linear crochet and panels.
Let’s get started.
